Silenus And Baby Dionysus

Description

This sculpture portrays Silenus, the wise and intoxicated companion of Dionysus, tenderly holding the infant god. The contrast between Silenus’s powerful aged form and the fragile body of the baby Dionysus captures a mythic moment of divine nurture and generational continuity.
