Iron Dionysus Of Tivoli

Description

This statue depicts the youthful Dionysus, god of wine and ecstasy. The panther skin draped over his shoulder signifies his divine attributes. His relaxed pose, with weight shifted to one leg, reflects the classical contrapposto style inherited from ancient Greek sculpture.
